The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club donated $600 to The War Amps from its annual Charity Lawn Bowling Jitney, held on Canada Day, July 1.

The funds raised will provide child amputees with financial assistance for artificial limbs and programs that will assist them in living with amputation. The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club has held this tournament in support of the War Amps Child Amputee Program (CHAMP) since 1998.

Ron Davis, president of the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club, presented the cheque, and received a thank-you certificate from Nanaimo youth Grace Johnson, a member of the CHAMP program.
