The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club is tickled pink about its annual fundraiser in support of the Canadian Cancer Society on Aug. 8.

The club will be turning on the pink that day. All women members will be on the green dressed in as much pink as possible. They will be lawn bowling in tournament format with the goal of raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The men of the club, on the other hand, will be preparing a meal and providing some fun lunchtime entertainment for the women.

Last year, the club raised more than $4,400 in this one-day event, and more than $18,000 since its inception, just over 10 years ago.

The public is invited to come out, take some pictures, play some of the fun activities and support local cancer patient care.

The club is located at 149 E. Stanford in Parksville.
