Parksville-area shoppers will soon have more Choices.
Quality Foods has announced a Choices Markets store will open in the spring of 2022 at the QF property at 319 Island Highway in Parksville.
“Although we originally planned to put a Quality Foods in this spot, we’ve given this a lot of thought and believe that a Choices Markets is the right fit for the growing city of Parksville,” said Justin Schley, executive vice president and CFO for Quality Foods.
In March of this year, QF officially opened its new flagship store in Parksville.
That new store, located at the corner of Molliet Street and Despard Avenue, is 40,000 square feet, plus a 10,000-square-foot mezzanine. The former location featured at 20,000-square-foot space.
“We’ve grown in the community for 25 years,” said Schley. “So it was time for us to expand and create the full-service store environment. We are extremely excited and proud to have that completed and just thrilled to have been embraced so warmly by community.”
Schley said Choices Markets plays well into the health and wellness needs of customers in the Parksville area.
“Given the spot and what’s missing in the market, we thought it would be the best fit because of the wide variety offered,” he said.
Quality Foods president Noel Hayward said: “Also part of the Pattison Food Group of companies, Choices Markets is a 100 per cent B.C. owned and operated retailer offering a warm, attractive, family-friendly shopping experience.”
“With a wide variety of natural, organic and specialty foods at affordable prices, Choices is committed to sustainability,” he added. “Since 1990, Choices Markets has been giving back to local organizations that work toward building healthy, sustainable communities through food, education, health and environmental initiatives. We’re excited to welcome Choices Market – will include a Pure Integrative Pharmacy – to the community of Parksville.
