The Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce plans to hold its annual ‘Moonlight Madness” as a kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
The special annual event, which marks its 37th year, involves local businesses in the downtown area and has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, Nov. 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The chamber has asked Town of Qualicum Beach council to grant them permission to hold the event and requested Second Avenue West between Jones Street and Beach Road be temporarily close during the event.
During Moonlight Madness, local merchants decorate their businesses and stay open late. They will also provide live music, festive treats to encourage residents and visitors to shop locally.
The Qualicum Beach Fire Department will also have a display along with festive decoration of Glassford Square for the annual fountain tree lightup.
