The Arrowsmith Search and Rescue’s (ASAR) new Operations Centre fundraising campaign received a $5,000 donation from EPCOR’s Heart + Soul Fund.

EPCOR Utilities Inc. provides water to the French Creek area for those living within the Regional District of Nanaimo between the City of Parksville and the Town of Qualicum Beach.

EPCOR established its Heart + Soul Fund in 2020 with the goal of supporting charitable organizations that enhance the community and provide a lifeline to those that need it most.

“In these current times, many non-profit organizations have struggled to find ways to fundraise for their critical programming,” said Christian Madsen, EPCOR director, regional operations. “Through EPCOR’s Heart + Soul Fund, we’re pleased to support ASAR in delivering vital services that keep residents safe as they recreate.”

Work on the new Operations Centre is proceeding well and donations from local individuals, municipalities, and businesses have been key in supporting the building process.

ASAR is very grateful for EPCOR’s support and for all the support it has received from the Parksville Qualicum Beach community.

If anyone is interested and able to donate to the ASAR Operations Centre building fund, more information can be found at www.arrowsmithsar.ca/donate
