There are grills, says Dave Field, and then there are grills.
Field, the secretary/treasurer of the Seaside Cruizers car club, has one of the latter, and it’s up for grabs at the upcoming Show and Shine in Qualicum Beach.
The grill, donated by Lordco Auto Supply, comes in the shape of a souped up hot rod engine and will be raffled off at the annual Father’s Day event.
The grill is a high performance engine replica with an aluminum body, stainless steel grills, two burners, an electronic igniter and comes complete with cover.
Anyone who wants it will want to get their tickets early, as tickets for a similar unit sold out in just four and a half hours at last year’s event. This year, Field said, only 1,500 tickets will be sold.
Proceeds from the tickets, which cost $5 each or three for $10, will be split between the Oceanside Hospice Society and the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Tickets are available at A&W on Friday, June 17, at the evening street dance in Qualicum Beach on June 18 or at the Show and Shine on June 19.
