Canadian Blood Services looking for donors in Parksville Qualicum Beach

Blood donation events set for Sept. 20 to Sept. 22

The Canadian Blood Services wants to replenish its dwindling reserve.

Since July 1, collections indicated has been steadily declining and the CBS has indicated an immediate need for all eligible donors to help replenish the national inventory of blood products.

The CBS is reaching out to groups and organizations across the country, including Parksville Qualicum Beach and area, to help spread the word and also to donate blood over the coming weeks.

Those who want to donate blood can do so Sept. 20-22 at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre located on 747 Jones St., from noon to 6:45 p.m.

Individuals can book appointments at www.blood.ca by downloading the GiveBlood app or by call the toll free number 1-888-2DONATE (1-888-236-6283).

On the day of your donation, make sure you are hydrated, feeling well, and had a good night’s sleep. Remember to bring a valid ID, your donor card (if you have donated before) and any prescription medication you are currently taking.
