The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Parksville-Qualicum will once again hold their annual book sale.

The book sale will take place with new dates and a new location – from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3, at the Coombs Fairgrounds on Ford Road in Coombs.

On Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, the sale will run from 9 a.m until 5 p.m., and on Oct. 3, the sale will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

They are asking their loyal and new customers to ‘mark their calendars’ to ensure the revenue can be used to help women and girls.

They are continuing to collect donations from their drop box to the right of Wembley Mall’s Save-on-Foods, 818 Island Highway West, and will keep them stored with the help of Island Self Storage.

CFUW is a national and international group that has advocated for the rights of women and girls for 101 years.

As “education is the most powerful tool for the independence of all persons”, the funds raised from the book sale will be used to enhance the scholarship fund for women and girls in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area, as well as to fund other educational endeavours locally, nationally and internationally.
