The Parksville-Qualicum Fish and Game Association held open houses at their ranges on Sunday, hosting members of the public who wanted to try their hand at archery and shooting.
The club is celebrating 100 years of activity this year.
At the Henry Rifle Range in Parksville, club members supervised people as they tried out different rifles, handguns and bows — imparting information about the club, safety and the club’s history.
Parksville mayor Chris Burger, himself a shooter, credited the association for its long lifespan and efforts to promote the sports of competitive shooting and fishing — as well as their work in conservation.
