Oceanside Hospice and Berwick Qualicum Beach invite the public to honour the memory of a loved one by releasing a butterfly on July 7 at 10 a.m.
The butterfly is utilized as a symbol by hospice organizations around the world, to represent transition and transformation, according to a news release by Oceanside Hospice Society.

Proceeds from the event will help Oceanside Hospice Society continue to serve individuals and families facing end-of-life issues.
The Oceanside Hospice Resource Centre serves the communities of Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, Deep Bay, Bowser, Qualicum Bay, Errington, Coombs, Hillers and Whiskey Creek.
Services include a medical equipment loan program, grief counselling, one-to-one grief support, holistic self-care and a lending library.
