Susanne Vignault of Moondance Tie Dye is the organizer for the annual Errington Craft Faire. This is the third year she has stretched the show over two weekends

Even if you went to the annual Errington Craft Faire last week, the second installment of the event  this Saturday will have plenty of new handmade items for you to browse. That’s because the Errington Hall will be filled with 33 different vendors.

“You have to come twice to see everything,” said organizer Susanne Vignault.

Vignault, who has organized the event for five years, said this is the third time that the annual fair has stretched over two weekends. “I got tired of saying no to everyone,” she said. “I had a waiting list the size of the Hall.”

She also said that having different vendors each weekend has helped introduce variety to the show. According to Vignault, the Errington Craft Faire started around 30 years ago as an event in which only vendors from Errington were allowed to sell, and many of those people would come year after year.

Some of those vendors still have booths at the show, and Vignault said those are who you’ll see this weekend. “It’s a real social event,” she said, comparing it to meeting up with old friends.

Now, however, Vignault says that the first weekend of the Errington Craft Faire is mostly reserved for people who are new to the show.

Also, no matter if you’re new or returning, Vignault said nobody can rent more than one table at the event. “We’re trying to keep it as big as possible and keep variety,” she said.

This weekend you’ll find a selection of fibre arts, jewellery, candles, soap, baking and more.

Also,  each vendor has donated one of their items into a basket draw. To enter, simply fill out the ballot form you’ll receive from each individual vendor you buy something from.

As always, the fair is also a fundraiser. All proceeds from booth rentals will go to the Errington Hall.

The last Errington Craft Faire of the year is this Saturday Dec. 13. Doors open at 10 a.m. and admission is free. There is also a concession stand. For more information, call 250-954-2922 or email susanneandguy@shaw.ca
