April is Daffodil Month and local municipalities and organizations encourage people to wear the yellow and white flower pins in support of the fight against cancer.
The campaign was started last year by the B.C. and Yukon division of the Canadian Cancer Society and was so successful it is now being done across the country.
They ask all Canadians to pick up a pin, available by donation throughout the community, with the money supporting people living with cancer, funding research to outsmart cancer and preventing cancer before it starts.
The month-long campaign culminates on Daffodil Day, April 27 when everyone is encouraged to wear the pin as symbol of courage and in solidarity with people struggling with cancer. For more information visit www.cancer.ca or call 1-888-939-3333.
