Dashwood fire hall to host great big garage sale

Saturday is the big day for bargain hunters in Dashwood area

The Dashwood fire hall is where bargain hunters are going to want to be on Saturday, as firefighters present their seventh annual giant garage sale and car wash.

Organizer Darlene Cappus said the event is held to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy research and the fire hall’s annual Halloween celebration.

The sale runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the box sale starting at noon.

“Often people will come to the sale and then come back for the box sale, where they can by a box and fill it with as much as it can possibly hold,” Cappus said.

The sale raised $2,800 last year and Cappus is hopeful that tally can be matched this time.

The Dashwood fire hall is located at 230 Hobbs Road at Highway 19A.
