Parksville Councillor Marc Lefebvre wants to see neighborhood electric vehicles (NEV) on Parksville’s streets.
That’s why he made a motion asking staff at a recent Regional District of Nanaimo committee of the whole meeting to look into the matter of legalizing the low speed electric powered vehicles as Qualicum Beach has done.
Chairperson of the RDN board and director of Area G, Joe Stanhope, replied that reducing speed limits on main roads to accommodate the vehicles would cause accidents and traffic jams.
