Over 700 people enjoyed a turkey dinner with all the fixin’s Thursday at Ballenas Secondary School.
It was the sixth annual Turkey Dinner Lunch prepared at the school by staff, students and volunteers.
Sheila Smith at the school said this event ensures that all of the B.S.S students will get a turkey dinner this holiday season.
Smith and others arrived at 3 a.m. on Thursday to get the 38 turkeys in the oven, while senior foods classes helped prep the potatoes, stuffing, carrots, peas, cranberry sauce and desserts, the week prior to the lunch.
