Nobody has to sell Corinne Rogers or Carolyn Campbell on the benefits of cycling to work and play. They do it all the time.
“We ride every day,” Campbell said. “It’s great. There’s a little trail to Fern Road and we can go right into town to the school or to go shopping. It’s particularly nice since they paved the trail — it gets the sillies out from the six-year-olds and she loves riding in her little trailer.”
The ‘we’ she’s talking about includes six-year-old Aiden and his two-year-old sister Fiona, who rides in a trailer behind her mom.
The family sometimes rides with their friends, Corinne Rogers, her son Lochlan, 6 and his little sister, Chloe, age three.
“We don’t ride every day, but we try to get out as much as we can,” Corinne said. “It’s a quick beeline to the school or going out for groceries. It’s very convenient and fun.”
The two-family cavalcade often stops at La Boulange on Bennett Road, a convenient stopping off point along the Dollymount trail.
“I highly recommend it,” Corinne said. “This way we can have that extra cookie or two and we don’t have to worry about parking.”
