At its Nov. 6 quarterly meeting, sponsored by Isle Golf Cars and the Morningstar Golf Club, the 100 Fine Gentlemen of Oceanside awarded $17,000 to the Ballenas & Kwalikum Guys Group.

"This donation will enable the Ballenas & Kwalikum Guys Group to expand weekly lunch hour at the high schools to include organized field trips activities for the boys to grow up to become confident, capable and caring men," read a press release.

The next meeting of the 100 Fine Gentlemen of Oceanside will take place on March 5, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Morningstar Golf Club, 525 Lowry's Rd., in Parksville.

A social hour starting at 6 p.m. will precede the meeting and is open to all members, guests and men interested in participating in the organization. The group is actively recruiting new members and any man residing in the Oceanside area can get more information (and sign up to participate) by going to the website at 100oceansidemen.ca or by emailing info@100oceansidemen.ca or by coming to the March meeting and social.

The group meets quarterly and its members commit to contribute $100 individually at each meeting to support an eligible Oceanside charitable group. A recipient charity may only receive a donation once every three years. Members' individual donations of $100 quarterly ($400 per year) are issued federal tax receipts by the recipient organization and 100 per cent of member donations goes to the selected charities.

Since its inception in December 2019, the group has contributed more than $225,000 to local charitable groups that provide services and support to the residents of Oceanside.
