The Hands & Hearts Food Program, formerly District 69 Backpack Program, has planned a fashion show fundraising event in Nanoose Bay on May 2.

Proceeds from the "Girls Night Out: Spring Edition" event will benefit the Hands & Hearts Food Program, which fights food insecurity and provides monthly food hampers to over 80 families, ensuring they have enough to eat for the entire month.

The program was established by Virginia Worcester 12 years ago and also provides special hampers and gifts during Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Nanoose Place Community Centre (2925 Northwest Bay Rd.)

Tickets are $30 and include entry to the fashion show, a welcome glass of Prosecco and a swag bag.

They are available online at champagneboutique.ca or at the Champagne Boutique and Hair Bar in Qualicum Beach.
