Members of the Oceanside Grandmothers to Grandmothers have created hats and fascinators  (women’s head scarves) fit for a royal wedding.

The hats will be sold among other crafts in an upcoming garden party July 9 in Parksville. The event, featuring a light lunch, music and crafts, will raise funds for grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa who are raising their grandchildren, orphaned by AIDS.

Tickets at $15 can be bought at the Cranky Dog in Parksville and the Shoe Inn in Qualicum Beach.
