The Career Centre is hosting its Hiring Fair this Wednesday, April 12, (April 12) from noon to 4 p.m. at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre.
The Hiring Fair will have dozens of employers sharing employment opportunities in fields ranging from hospitality to tourism, education and more.
Two information sessions will be offered; both require registration. Call 250-248-3205 to register.
The first is Employment with Island Health from 10-11:30 a.m., where people can learn about opportunities, preferred qualifications, resume formatting and the application process.
The second session is Jobs in Tourism and Hospitality from 12:30-2 p.m., where mature workers will learn how to get back into the workforce with a job in tourism.
Some hiring fair tips include being prepared with an updated resume, researching the companies you’re interested in, dressing to impress and asking questions.
