It was the perfect day for flying a kite on Saturday: a pleasant wind and bright, patchy clouds that offered sunny breaks.
Kitefest took place on both Saturday and Sunday in Parksville’s Community Park where kite enthusiasts off all ages came together to be entertained, have some food and most importantly, fly kites. There were vendors selling kite-related merchandise, activities like kite-building, and the ever popular Teddy Bear Drop, where children chased down parachuting bears dropped 90 feet by the Parksville Fire Department.
