Knox Church Fall Fair this Saturday

Antiques, books, toys and more will fill the church grounds at annual event

It’s that time of year again when Knox United Church fills to the brim with antiques, new and used treasures, while the grounds fill up with entertainment, food and activities.

It’s the eighth annual Knox Fall Fair and donation items like CDs, jewelry, books, toys, household linens and furniture are currently being pulled out of storage lockers and organized for the fair.

The fair kicks off September 15 at 8 a.m. when the outside booths will be open for business, which also include some locally grown produce and baking, while the church doors open at 8:30 p.m. for all garage sale items inside.

A mobile kitchen will be set up with Fair Trade coffee, breakfast and lunch from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A silent auction will also be set up with gift certificates, merchant donations and collectibles.

And for those that get thirsty while perusing the deals, don’t worry about purchasing bottled water, to discourage this practice Parksville tap water will available to all for free.

An entertainment stage will begin mid-morning along with activities and a story tent for children.

Admission to the fair is free but donations to assist with Knox’s programs in the community are welcome.

A free shuttle will be taking people from Ballenas Secondary School to the church throughout the day. Onsite parking is available for disabled patrons and parents with infants. Guide dogs are welcome but pets are not.

Knox United Church is located at 345 Pym Street in Parksville. For more information visit www.kucparksville.ca or call 250-248-3927.
