The Oceanside Hospice Society invites the community to a special open house at its resource centre, located at 210 West Crescent Rd., in Qualicum Beach.
The event takes place Tuesday, June 18, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This event marks a significant milestone — 35 years of delivering compassionate, end-of-life and bereavement care to the Oceanside community.
This year's celebration carries extra significance as the society unveils the newly renovated spaces within the resource sentre.
According to a press release, thanks to the support of the community, there are now two additional grief support offices, a new board room and a dedicated space for Reiki and healing touch therapies. These renovations will allow for better service for clients and expand access to vital programs and services, offered to the Oceanside community free of charge.
During the last 35 years, Oceanside Hospice Society has become a cornerstone of support for individuals and families navigating the challenging journey of serious illness, caregiving and grief. Their services – including one-to-one grief support, palliative medical equipment loan and wellness therapies for the bereaved — have been built on the values of dignity, respect and compassion.
"We are proud of the relationships we've formed, the lives we've touched, and the legacy of care that continues to grow," stated the release. "The newly renovated spaces represent more than just bricks and mortar — they embody our commitment to being a safe, healing place for all who need us. We hope you will join us on June 18 to tour the centre, meet our dedicated staff and volunteers and help us celebrate 35 years of community care. Whether you're a long-time supporter or simply curious about the work we do, your presence is part of what makes this community so special."
