The Oceanside Running Club Association came through with another donation to Haven Society Parksville.
Despite COVID-19, which has kept the club from staging its Mother’s Day 5K and 10K race, a major fundraiser for local charities, Team Orca was still able to help the society.
ORCA president recently presented a $1,420 cheque the society with Dawn Clark and Karen Wyse accepting it on behalf of the group at the waterfront in the Parksville Community Park.
“This was part of our club’s ongoing commitment to give back to our community notwithstanding the constraints of COVID-19,” said Jill Davies, ORCA’s spokesperson. “We know that now, more than ever, the support of local organizations is vital.”
