Parksville fire department collecting food this weekend

Look for your Quality Foods bag on your doorstep — and then consider filling it up

Individual residents, businesses and whole apartment or strata complexes are collecting goods for this weekend’s big Parksville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual food and toy drive.

All through the weekend, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, fire department volunteers will circulate through residential neighbourhoods with fire truck lights flashing, collecting non-perishable food items and/or new, unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army’s Christmas campaign.

Quality Foods grocery bags have been distributed in previous editions of The NEWS that can be filled and left on door steps or obvious spots in front of your house.
