Parksville, Qualicum Beach legion branches host levées

Food, drink, music and fellowship highlight New Year’s Day tradition

Royal Canadian Legion branches in Parksville and Qualicum Beach greeted the new year with food, beverages, music and fellowship while hosting their annual New Year’s levées Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.

At Parksville’ Arrowsmith Legion Branch 49, the event included performances by the Arrowsmith Pipe Band and food prepared by the ladies’ auxiliary.

At Qualicum Beach Legion Branch 76, guests were greeted by a punch bowl of “Moose’s Milk” and a buffet line of snacks and desserts. The Qualicum Beach Pipe Band played, and the event wrapped up with dancing to the live music of Bruce Feltham and Bob Kamerbeek.
