Parksville-Qualicum MLA Adam Walker visits with Arrowview Elementary School youngsters

Walker awarded $100 in gift certificates to the winner of regional school winter art contest

Parksville-Qualicum MLA Adam Walker and assistant Jessica Cloutier made a special appearance at a Grade 4/5 class at Arrowview Elementary School on Friday, Dec. 10.

Teacher Dave MacVicar said some of his students entered into a regional school winter art contest, sponsored by Walker. Student Clara Einarson was declared the winner for her ‘frosty’ design for which she received $100 in gift certificates.

In a Facebook post from Dec. 14, Walker stated the design was used for his holiday cards this year.

MacVicar said the MLA visited with his class for over an hour, educating students on his previous roles in municipal government as well as his current responsibilities in provincial politics.

Each of his students were also gifted colouring books, treats and other items.

MacVicar’s class plans to visit Walker in Victoria at the Legislature this coming Spring.
