The popular annual Polar Bear Splash is set to stir up the waters again at the Parksville Community Park Beach on Jan. 1.
The Regional District of Nanaimo will host the bone-chilling swim that aims to usher the New Year with a splash. Participants brave enough to take the plunge are advised to arrive early at 11:30 a.m. to register for the splash that starts at noon. The event is free of charge.

The RDN Recreation Department is also holding a winter break drop-in swim from Dec. 17 to Jan. 1 at the Ravensong Aquatic Centre. For more information go online at https://rdn.bc.ca/swim-schedule
