For many years now the Qualicum Bay Lions Club has risen to the task of helping the Errington Therapeutic Riding Association with financial assistance and 2012 is no exception.

At a regular meeting on February 28, Hannah Coulson presented George Dusseault, president of the  Qualicum Bay Lions Club, with a  plaque of appreciation, along with many thanks for the clubs continued support of the ETRA.

The Errington Therapeutic Riding Association has been in existence for some 22 years and also relies on a host of volunteers to help with their organization. The ETRA now have a new home at Pyramid Stables in Lantzville.

The Qualicum Bay Lions Club has a priority to help local organizations that are giving back to the community. They also award scholarships to local students who are graduating and plan to continue their education as well as helping people from the local area that are in need of assistance with daily living issues.

The Qualicum Bay Lions Club has 30 members who are involved in fundraising throughout the year with pancake breakfasts, silent auctions, hot dog and hamburger concessions at the Fall Fair and Bluegrass festival as well as receiving business and individual donations.
