Qualicum Beach Legion set to stage Canada Day celebrations for 2022

Event to feature a variety of different activities

The Qualicum Beach Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 has lined up a number of fun activities for Canada Day celebrations on July 1.

The Legion will kick off the celebration with a parade to start at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre at noon. Participants will be judged in four categories with cash prizes of $250 for the best overall entry, $100 for the theme entry, $50 for spirit entry and $50 for best children’s entry under 12.

There will also be a variety of activities for children, a pancake breakfast, live music and a refreshment garden. The events are free.

A street dance will take place in the evening at 7:30 p.m. featuring Dan Hare and the March Hare Band, who will feature an array of tunes include tribute to Bob Seger and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

The Legion, in partnernship with the Town of Qualicum Beach, is excited to sponsor the event again after having been cancelled for two years due to COVID-19.
