QUALICUM BEACH - Students from Kwalikum Secondary School in Qualicum Beach are selling and delivering Earthbank Fish Compost this weekend, as a fundraiser for Hero Holiday.

The Hero Holiday program has students travel to Mexico, the Dominican Republic or other countries, and help locals there build homes for families in need. In the past eight years, says local spokesperson and KSS teacher Lil Rasa, KSS and the community have sent more than 100 kids on a Hero Holiday.

"Students who participate in these trips typically come back with an entirely different perspective on their world and the power they have to help make a difference," Rasa stated in a media release. "This weekend, residents of Oceanside can help us make a difference by purchasing some Earthbank Fish Compost. For a donation, we will deliver orders of five or more bags."

There will also be pick up points at the Wembly Mall and KSS this Saturday and Sunday - Earth Day weekend - from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any questions, or would like to place an order, you can contact Lil Rasa at 250-240-0091 or email: lrasa@sd69.bc.ca.
