The third week in May has been celebrated as National Public Works Week since 1960. Municipalities across Canada use this week to educate, engage and inform the public about the essential role of public works in the quality of life of the community.
For the past two years, town staff have successfully navigated their essential roles through the pandemic, maintaining daily operations which improve the quality of life and safety of residents.
Qualicum Beach is proud to highlight the services provided by public works and parks staff and hope this open house will increase awareness of the work necessary to maintain town infrastructure and services. In addition, this event will provide an opportunity to promote public works/parks as a career choice.
