Kwalli Seagull, Qualicum Beach’s Beach Day mascot, will return in 2022 for the festival’s ninth year.
While everyday is ‘beach day’ in Qualicum Beach, this year’s event, held on Sunday, July 17, from noon until 4 p.m., will have special events to celebrate the beauty of the town’s beach. The fun family event will also offer a focus on environmental awareness.
“Come to the grassy esplanade and the long stretch of sandy beach near the boat ramp,” read a release from Tom Whitfield, chair of the Qualicum Beach Day committee. “There will be tents hosting activities starting at noon, a main stage for live music plus a variety of games and entertainment. Low tide is at about 2:30 p.m. this year. A variety of food options will be available.”
Organizers invite residents (and guests) to spend the afternoon along the town’s waterfront to enjoy the ocean, sun, activities and food.
Shuttles will be provided to the waterfront event, with pickup downtown at The Berwick on 120 First Ave.
