Three carvings donated by Oscar Moria to the Qualicum Bay Lions Club were raffled at the 48th Annual Lighthouse Country Fall Fair that was held Sept. 1.

The raffle was a fundraiser and it generated over $4,000, which will go towards feeding students at Bowser Elementary School through the hot lunch program.

The winning tickets were: first place Kathy Major, second place Don Svensen, and third place Malcolm McKewen. The Qualicum Bay Lions Club would like to thank all those local citizens as well as far away citizens for their contribution and also to Oscar Moria for his generous donation of his beautiful carvings.

This year’s fall fair honored volunteers, who had work to make the fair a success from start to finish each year. The popular fall event drew a huge turnout, who enjoyed a variety of events that include an array of exhibits and displays, musical performances by different artists, games, performances, a petting zoo and also the traditional tug-of-war contest between the Bow Horn Bay Volunteer Fire Department and the Deep Bay Volunteer Fire Department. The event was hosted by the Bow Horne Bay Community Club.
