It’s a chance to get rid of some of your old papers and files.

On Saturday (May 7) between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Oceanside RCMP and Oceanside Community Safety will host a confidential paper shredding event at Wembley Mall in Parksville.

Oceanside Community Safety and Oceanside RCMP have partnered with Wembley Mall (826 Island Highway West) and BEST Shredding to the event, where people can bring all of their confidential papers to be shredded on-site.

The cost for shredding is by donation and proceeds will go toward supporting Oceanside Community Safety’s public safety and crime prevention activities such as Block Watch.

“This is a great opportunity for people to bring in all of those old files, papers and receipts they have been holding on to over the last couple of years and be assured they are disposed of securely,” said Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP.
