RCMP-led ‘Cram the Cruiser’ food drive returns to Parksville on March 12

Event to be held outside Parksville Save-on-Foods beginning at 10 a.m.

The ‘Cram the Cruiser Food Bank Drive’, organized by the Oceanside RCMP, Oceanside Community Safety and Save-on-Foods, returns to Parksville later this month.

Mike Garland with Oceanside Community Safety confirmed officers and volunteers will be out on the sidewalk in front of Save-On-Foods (818 Island Highway W) on Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., to benefit the Mount Arrowsmith Salvation Army.

“It’s a really good time to think of others right now, especially with COVID. And the food banks could really use the support,” said Sgt. Jill Swann with the Oceanside RCMP.

Non-perishable items needed this time of year include canned goods, rice and hygiene products.
