School superintendent to retire

Candice Morgan, superintendent of School District 69 (Qualicum) is retiring at the end of the current school year.

Candice Morgan, superintendent of School District 69 (Qualicum) is retiring at the end of the current school year.

Morgan started as a teacher in the district in 1978, according to a press release from the district, and has been superintendent since 2003.

"I'm going to miss her terribly," said Board of Trustees vice chair Jane Williams. "She's very passionate about what she does and compassionate, she is very highly regarded among the Superintendents Association."

"I've worked with her in many capacities over the years, she's a wonderful person to work with," said Jill McCaffery, president of the Mount Arrowsmith Teacher's Association who started as a teacher in the district three years after Morgan.
