The popular annual Father’s Day Show ‘N Shine, on hold for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held this June.

The Seaside Cruizers are already making plans for the event, to take place in the downtown core in Qualicum Beach June 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Cruizers have sought the permission of Qualicum Beach council to close the street for their event as well as a street dance on June 18, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., to be held on Second Avenue between Primrose Street and the lane east of the Credit Union before Memorial.

Council endorsed the request at the regular council meeting Feb. 2 and expressed excitment to see the event happen again.

The Seaside Cruizers Car Club was formed in 1993 by six local car enthusiasts. For more than 20 years, the show has been held in Craig Bay and Nanoose Bay before moving into dowtown Qualicum Beach in 2002.

The Father’s Day event attracts some 600 vintage and collectible cars and brings more than 30,000 spectators and registrants to the community.
