The cruise night is Saturday, Aug. 4. Starting at Wembley Centre in Parksville, the cruise will go through Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Vehicle registration is from 5-6:30 p.m. with the cruise departing at 7 p.m.

The following day, Aug. 5, is the car show at Parksville Community Park. Gates open at 7 a.m. with vehicle registration from 7-10 a.m.

There is a pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and lunch starts at 11 a.m. There will also be 50/50 draws. Judging begins at 10:30 a.m. and the trophy presentations begin at 1:30 p.m.

Net proceeds from the show and shine event will be donated directly to the Shriners of BC & Yukon Child Services Society, according to the Shriners press release. In 2017, the amount raised from the show was $16,000.

These funds support Shriners in Your Community fund and the ongoing transportation of children and their parents or caregiver to and from “Shrine Hospitals.” This fund is used to purchase orthopaedic equipment for B.C. children such as customized wheelchairs, orthopaedic shoes, braces and other specialized equipment.
