Local youth bands get ready for a battle.
This Family Day in Qualicum Beach another Battle of the Bands competition is set to take place, giving the winning group $200 and the runner up $100.
There is no entrance fee, local groups just need to have between three and six members up to 19 years of age to compete.
Five bands are needed to compete in the battle that will take place on the Youth Stage near the skateboard park.
Application forms have been sent to schools and should be available in the office.
Bands need to complete the application, upload their best song on YouTube and e-mail both to vgdare@gmail.com.
Each band selected will play a 20-minute set during the afternoon between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, April 15. Selected bands will notified by April 30.
Family Day takes place May 29 at the Qualicum Beach Community Park.
