The Qualicum Beach Elementary School’s big spring carnival was a success recently with students busy running different classrooms with unique cultures as part of the international theme.

The carnival was a fundraiser for school PAC (parent advisory committee) events and included a silent auction.

Through the international theme they invited everyone to, “travel the world in seven classrooms,” with each representing a different country — Guatemala, India, Canada, Holland, Scotland, Italy and Japan.

Along with the food and cultural activities there were carnival games, pony rides, a bouncy castles, 50/50 draw, raffle baskets and BMX racing.

“The carnival was a great success and lots of fun was had by all last Friday, April 29,” said Holly Carnegie Letcher, one of the parent organizers, by e-mail.
