Students across School District 69 have been busy building science fair projects and some are now moving on from their schools to the district fair at Wembley Mall next week.

Each school sends 12 to 20 projects to the district fair where the public is invited to see a wide variety of projects representing all areas of science.

School’s conducted their fairs in different ways with some voluntary and others, like Oceanside Middle School, making it part of the curriculum.

OMS principal Jim Powell said they had over 200 projects with students working individually and in pairs on either an experiment or research and teachers grade them as class projects.

At the district fair community volunteers judge the projects.

The district fair runs all day March 3 and 4 with judging and fun events on Friday including fun science demonstrations by Victoria’s Mad Science at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
