The owners of Brigadoon Golf Course in Parksville are tickled pink after a breast cancer fundraising event last week raised $503.

Chris and Ross Rivers who operate the nine hole golf course on Martindale Road have always been contributing to various charities.  Recently they decided to get teed off at breast cancer and turned one of their Ladies Day events into a fundraiser for breast cancer research.

In all 44 women wearing pink took to the links and the group effort resulted in a big cash donation for the Breast Cancer Society.

Brigadoon donated a portion of the green fees to the cause and provided pink prizes as well as mostly pink refreshments.

"We asked the ladies to wear pink and I made pink cupcakes," said Chris.

She said they have been hosting a themed Ladies Day every two weeks this summer and she is thrilled that all of their clients were so supportive of the fundraiser.

There was a raffle by donation for a 13-round pass which was won by Heather Stewart.
