Parksville Fire Rescue Open House: Parksville Volunteer Fire Department members will host their annual open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parksville Fire Hall, 160 Jensen Avenue West. Residents are invited to learn about fire safety including home fire sprinklers, smoke alarms and home escape plans. There will be educational displays and activities where you will learn how to use a fire extinguisher, how to perform CPR, try hose and target practice, and there’s also a bunker gear challenge for kids. She-Sells Market: Women entrepreneurs doing what we can to help other women. Parksville Curling Club, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendor event, but with a twist. We have invited a not-for-profit organization of women who are joining forces with us. They are Island Harmony - an a capella performing chorus with the several members living in the Qualicum/Parksville area. Island Harmony will be present at our event not only to raise some needed funds to keep them going, but also to perform at various points throughout the day. Island Harmony raises money not only for themselves, but they also donate some of their proceeds to a women’s shelter. Women helping women helping women! Qualicum Run Club: New outdoor fitness club for slow pace women - friends, fitness, coffee! Ongoing year-round - starting Nov. 4 running every month in all weather. Includes athletic conditioning, structured beginner fitness program and fun active community for women who ‘hate running!’ We meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-10 a.m., adding new times as we grow.
