Young Professionals of Oceanside are hoping to give a helping hand to the Salvation Army.
The YPO Christmas in June Community Food Drive is Saturday, June 9, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wembley Centre parking lot.
The goal, according to the group’s Facebook event, is to fill a 500-gallon hot tub with food for the food bank.
There will be a barbecue by donation, or people can earn a free lunch (hot dog or burger and drink) by playing “Food Drive Bingo” to fill a line on a bingo card with desired food items to win a meal.
Bingo cards will be provided prior to June 9 via this Facebook Event (www.facebook.com/YPOceanside) or on site the day of the event.
There will also be games for kids.
YPO will also have people going door-to-door for donations.
If a business or organization would like to collect donations at their location, a YPO member can drop off a donation box to your business and pick it up on the day of the event as well.
