Youth Mental Health

Oceanside Middle School students celebrated Youth Week and National Child and Youth Mental Health Day May 7 on their lunch hour.

Above, students Kaylee Drinkwater gives Trey Hansen’s nails some pop during the event. There was also music, where local musician Gerry Barnum jammed with the students, hula hooping with Sally from Smart Fitt, displays and facts about mental illness, disorders and wellness. Joe McNutty was there teaching mindfulness and there was water and healthy snacks donated by SaveOn Foods and OMS’s PAC. Outreach workers from FRA and AFCSS also supported the event.
