Head to Qualicum Bay next Sunday for the Poultry Swap Flea Market Bluegrass Pancake Breakfast.

“It’s more than a mouthful with something for everyone, said organizer Sheena McCorquodale, also with the Mid Island Bluegrass Society (MIBS).

McCorquodale and her feathered friends are regulars at the pancake breakfast and poultry swap that happens on the second sunday of every month at the Lighthouse Community Centre in Qualicum Bay. Next weekend this will also include open mic performances hosted by the Island Blue Rose Bluegrass Band, an open meeting for the MIBS, discussing developments for live bluegrass music in the area, followed by an open jam.

From 8 a.m. to noon there is a pancake breakfast for $5, and an indoor flea market. The poultry swap and live music goes from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the live jam.

At 11 a.m. McCorquodale, who also owns Silver Wings ceremonial dove release, will release her doves.

Register for open mic with Linda at 250-752-0383, to book a table for the flea market call Lois at 250-757-9938.
