Pianist and vocalist Bruce Gallagher, better known as “Doc Fingers,” will perform at The Old School House Arts Centre’s (TOSH) Lounge Night on March 31.

Gallagher’s musical repertoire includes anything from jazz, to rock and roll to blues to Latin sambas and country.

His extensive song list includes more than 1,000 numbers that cover a 70-year period of musical history. In his own words, Gallagher plays “a little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing”, a TOSH news release said.

He’s played with big names in the music industry including Frank Zappa, Chuck Berry, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, Steve Winwood, Bo Diddley, Rita Coolidge and Qualicum Beach’s own Phil Dwyer.

Gallagher has performed at the Kinsale Fringe Jazz Festival, the Cork Jazz Festival, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and 13-year residency at the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival.

Known as the “skiing piano player,” Gallagher has played for many years in top ski resorts, including Whistler, and Swiss resorts Gstaad, Schonreid, Chateau d’Oex, Verbier, St. Moritz, Wengen, and the Pink Elephant Bar in the Hotel Post in Zermatt.

He was also the piano player for the International Olympic Committee’s private members lounge during the Olympic Games in Lillehammer (1994), Atlanta (1996), Nagano (1998), Sydney (2000) and Sochi (2014).
