Coming to the McMillan Arts Centre ”The Low Lonesome Sound” of Folk Singer/Songwriter, multi instrumentalist, Tim Eccles Friday, Sept. 11 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.).

Eccles has been playing in a variety of styles and settings in the Northwest for 20 years.
Being a versatile instrumentalist has opened up a variety of avenues for exploration. Having started as a singer, each instrument began as accompaniment for his voice. As the years passed and more instruments worked their way into his hands, they all became a part of his overall musical voice. Playing guitar, lap slide and resophonic guitar, banjo (bluegrass and clawhammer) and mandolin, Tim is comfortable playing in a variety of settings — from large festivals to intimate environments and in a variety of music genres — bluegrass, old-time and folk, blues, country and even pop and rock if asked nicely.
Eccles is currently working with a pair of bands and gets out to play solo and small ensemble gigs with musical friends and colleagues that ers.
Eccles fronted Vancouver’s award winning alt-grass band ‘Great Northern’ playing guitar and singing lead vocals for ten years.
