Enjoy a night out in your fanciest attire in Qualicum Beach, complete with a light show, poker table, appetizers and mystery.

A Masquerade Ball will take place at the Crown Mansion on Saturday, Jan. 26, using the services of local businesses while providing a fun and playful atmosphere where people are encouraged to hide their identity.

“The idea is to be mysterious and have fun with it, that’s why the masks are included (in the ticket price) so everyone can hide their identity,” said organizer Scarlett Luke.

VestaFire will be doing an LED light show and juggling, there will be belly dancing by Ramona and people can even play poker in the “man cave.”

This is “the famous poker table” that John Wayne played on, Luke said, set in an inviting spot in the mansion.

“It’s kind of in a cozy man-cave-room that’s like a den with wood panelled walls and a fireplace.”

Appetizers will be served by Crown Mansion using products from local businesses like Little Qualicum Cheeseworks and the Morningstar Farm, as well as local salmon. A cash bar will be set up for beverages and an unmasking will take place at midnight.

Tickets are $45 and includes a basic mask. For more information or to buy tickets visit www.pqmasquerade.com or call 250-607-7387.
